I’m always on the look-out for something different and special when it comes to beauty or skincare products, things you can’t necessarily buy from your local DisChem or that not everybody has heard of. I heard about Balm Balm Rose Water Hydrosol via the Elle beauty editor on Twitter and decided I had to give it a try. Balm Balm are running a nice special at the moment where you get a free Face Balm worth R140 with orders of R140 and over, so of course I ordered right away. And then I researched the company, as I tend to do, and realised I had found a winner. This is just the sort of brand I get excited about. It is 100% organic and 100% natural, certified by the Soil Association, the packaging is recyclable and from sustainable forests, the manufacturers are carbon neutral and, importantly, they do not test on animals or use any animal-tested ingredients! That’s a long list of beauty product awesomeness.
I have bad sinusitis at the moment and have completely lost my sense of smell, but I am told the products smell lovely, as I imagine they would since they contain essential oils. I have tried the Rose Water Hydrosol which is hydrating and refreshing on a hot day, and Rose Geranium Face Balm. It does have a great texture that absorbs smoothly and isn’t greasy. I tried it on my lips, and they were super soft for a good few hours. I also used some on my infamous peeling nose (from repeated nose blowing) and it worked well for that too. I have read reviews by other people who say with repeated use it solves problems like dry hands and elbows. The best thing about the Rose Geranium Face Balm is that it can cut out at least two products from your daily routine. I used it in place of moisturizer and primer and had hydrated, luminous skin all day. I was amazed at what it could do. If you are traveling or in a rush, why use two or three products when you can use one?
Included in my package I got a little brochure of Balm Balm Top Tips, which gives you some great ideas for using the multi-tasking Face Balm. The Tea Tree Balm Balms can be used to ease nasal congestion if you have a cold, and the Fragrance Free Balms are good for cradle cap and use as a baby bum balm. Use them under your makeup for a dewy, natural look or to keep wild eyebrows under control.
The next products on my list to try are the facial range. How divine does a Hibiscus Face Mask sound (brown rice flour, ground hibiscus and rose geranium essential oil)? And I’m also very interested in the Little Miracle Rosehip Serum, maybe when my Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery is finished.
Anyway, I was excited enough about this brand to want to share. For information on how to order you can get hold of Balm Balm via Twitter @BalmBalmSA or Facebook, Balm Balm – South Africa to take advantage of the special.
