Bourjois’ Little Pots of Promise

I said in my earlier Bourjois post that I would be reviewing two more Bourjois products, which I couldn’t help buying on impulse after I was so pleased with the Healthy Mix Serum foundation and the lip gloss. Here is what I bought: Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush in 03 Brun Cuivre, and Little Round Pot Intense Eyeshadow in 02 Miel.

Little Round Pot Blush and Eyeshadow

They have many shades of both the blush and the eyeshadow pots, which are packaged really nicely in a good quality compact with a mirror inside. They are easy to open, something which I have started to appreciate after battling to open eyeshadow palettes and the like with my chewed-down stumps of nails. The blush comes with a cute little curved brush. I say it is cute, but that is really it’s only plus point. I didn’t find it particularly easy to use and it didn’t pick up enough of the product. The blush smells lovely! It’s difficult to describe but it is a really pretty, old-fashioned powder sort of smell.

How the products look

The shade 03 Brun Cuivre is a sort of peachy brown. The pigment is fine, not too intense (because in a blush one sometimes ends up completely over-applying if it is) but it shows up nicely, is buildable and blends easily. It has a hint of shimmer in it, nothing drastic. The Little Round Pot Intense Eyeshadow in 03 Miel is a metallic gold. It is nicely pigmented and you only need to use a little, but you can build it up if you want to go glam for evening or something. It claims to last for 16 hours (like the Healthy Mix Serum foundation… wonder if 16 is like their magic number?) but after about eight hours on me it had disappeared.

I’d really recommend these little pot products. I am still in love with Stila and on a quest to buy every single product they sell, but Bourjois is also a really lovely brand and very reasonably priced. The Little Round Pot Blush is R109.95 and the Little Round Pot Intense Eyeshadows are R95.95 each. Go to Style36 for a wide selection of Bourjois products. I’d go for an eyeliner next, only I’m saving myself for the Stila Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Rock Candy.
