Stila Convertible Colour | Multi-tasking Makeup bag Must-have

I have been wanting one of these for ages, so the day before Mothers Day when I was already splurging on my mom anyway I thought I might as well just do a little self-spoiling while I was at it. I have yet to meet a Stila product I didn’t like, and this just continues the trend. I love the pretty packaging, one reason why this pink metallic compact will be whipped out at every opportunity.

But let’s not judge a book by its cover here. I chose the Convertible Colour in peony, a pretty natural nude colour. It isn’t as dark or as pink as lillium; it is a great shade for fair people like me. The thing I love most about it is that this is my first two-in-one product, meaning it can be used on lips and cheeks. I think this is fabulous because I am a bit anal about matching, and always think my lips look like they clash with my blusher. And what a great way to minimize your makeup bag clutter too! Terrible photos follow…look away now if you are sensitive.

Convertible Colour in Peony

I look a bit drugged here, not sure why… 5am start?

The formula is translucent, so the brightness you see in the compact isn’t what’s going to end up on your cheeks (breathe a sigh of relief, because gladiola is really bright orange). It shows up nicely though and you can build it up easily to a real pop of colour on your cheeks. On lips it looks completely natural. I would have liked it to show up a bit more on my lips, but for that I should maybe have got the Lillium shade. The thing I liked is that it stays on your cheeks for hours. I did a check on it after six hours and could still see the blush.

Stila Convertible Colour is also available in poppy (red), gladiola (orange), fuschia (bright pink) and lillium (taupe pink). They’re available online at or on for R240.

I didn’t really, but I found the stay all day liquid lipstick very drying. I like to layer lipsticks to get the right colour and moisturizing properties, this you could try over another base colour?
