Smashbox O-Gloss Gold

I have seen reviews for the Smashbox O-Gloss before and always thought it was a fun and nifty product, but when I discovered this gold version I just had to have it! This is an intuitive lip gloss that adapts to the pH of your lips to create the perfect colour for your skin tone. While the original O-Gloss gives you a customized shade of pink, O-Gloss Gold creates an individual shade of peach. In case you haven’t been reading or haven’t noticed, I am a little obsessed with all shades of peach, apricot and orange lately. I think it is the Spring fever. Anything golden and shimmery also reminds me of summer, especially the way the sun shines on the sea. This gloss comes out of the tube a pure gold, and then adapts within a minute or two to a peach colour with beautiful golden flecks in it. It is this golden shimmer in the sun that turns this gloss from ordinary to awesome, and I am a bit in love with it. It is still laid-back and natural enough to go perfectly with just some bronzer and mascara for a day at the pool.

I couldn’t get the gold shimmer and peachy colour to show up 100% in my photo, so I borrowed two photos online to show what it looks like when directly applied and the colour with shimmer afterwards.

Now, enough about how it looks. O-Gloss Gold also contains Goji Berry-C complex (a Smashbox trademark), pomegranate seed, ginkgo biloba, marine botanicals and avocado oil. I am a huge fan of goji berries, marine extracts and pomegranates when it comes to their beauty-boosting properties (click links for previous posts). This gloss is more than just a pretty face. It is hard-working and intelligent too. It is very moisturising, and isn’t thick and sticky like purely aesthetic glosses can be. The texture is very similar to the Bourjois Effet 3D gloss. I have found the hydrating effect lasts a long time. There isn’t really anything about this gloss that I dislike, and it is going to be a summer handbag essential for me.
