My August Bandwagonbox

This round the Bandwagonbox theme was Spring Fling and I was partnered with the big-hearted Charlene from Gee Whiskers blog, who I have met twice before in real life and chat to a lot on Instagram and Twitter, so I feel a bit of a bond with her. She is actually the only Bandwagonbox member I have actually met before, and it added a personal touch this time around. Knowing me so well, and being a beauty blogger herself, Charlene knows that Spring is pamper time…time to get all your ducklings in a row for summer (I.e sort my weird winter feet out and start thinking about a tan). She outdid herself this time with choosing the perfect products to make me happy!

There is so much to cover that I can’t go into detail about it all, but highlights for me were the two Inglot products, a gorgeous acrylic cube with lip gloss duo inside, and a beautiful sparkling purple eyeshadow. These are my first Inglot products and I really love them. I will do a review on these two soon. I am also a big Body Shop fan and I love the Born Lippy balm in raspberry and the facial brush.

There was also nail polish galore in there, two Essie polishes (Fiji and French Affair) perfect for Spring, a MUA polish and a Topshop holographic polish in a pretty pastel blue. Annoyingly the day I received these I chewed my nails to the quick, but I now have incentive to re-grow them.

What else got my heart racing? The Lush butterball and Eau Roma toner, the Schwartzkopf hair colour – because my roots were seriously overdue – and the ultra-pampering face mask and foot treatment (for those aforementioned weird winter feet of mine). The Poetry gardener’s hand scrub is also lovely, and I think I am going to do a review on that too soon.

Evidence of a possible psychic connection: the pink “keep calm and love on” tin of mints is the exact same one I tried to get for Charlene, except my local Clicks was sold out of this particular design. The money goes to a good cause, and the tin contains mints in different flavours. I had the same one a while ago and was a bit sad when it finished. I am also now a bit addicted to the apple flavoured Blink mints I got with my Bandwagonbox.

Yes it is a guideline, one which I blithely ignore (and obviously so does Charlene…). But it is up to the individual if they want to stick to it or go over, and I have been terribly lucky with my boxes so far. Mel Hinrichsen also gave me a beautiful box of spoils. ๐Ÿ™‚ It also helps sometimes if you have things which you received but want to pass on, like the two Essie polishes Charlene didn’t like so she passed them on to me. And the hair colour she received but she isn’t blonde, so she put it in the box for me.

Yes you are extremely lucky! I think my boxes so far have definitely been within the budget. I honestly thought the budget was in place so we could all get and send the same quality of box. But I now know for next time the budget is out the window ๐Ÿ˜‰ Ha, ha.

It is true actually that if we all stuck to it then it would be more fair. I didn’t think of it that way, I just wanted to make my boxes as awesome as I could afford to. I just found R150 impossible. Perhaps we should have a range instead, like a minimum and a maximum amount.

I try to keep to the budget…My intensions always start out like that…BUT in your case there was no budget in mind ๐Ÿ˜› I wanted to spoil you because like you said, we’ve met and chat so much so it was more personal for me. Glad you like everything! XXX

Yes that is true, in this case it was more personal, a lot more like shopping for a friend’s birthday or something than for someone I don’t know at all. My last two boxes I either tried to not go over too much or I had quite a few extra things or freebies which I didn’t have to buy.

I just wanted to reiterate that some of the stuff in the boxes could be free gifts with purchase, free samples or things the person already had, so they aren’t counted in the budget.

That makes sense ๐Ÿ™‚ thought maybe my shopping skills are bad becuase there’s no way I could get all of that with the budget. Enjoy your spoils B ๐Ÿ˜‰
