Scrubs I Love

This week and next week I am doing a series of “…I Love” posts since I am under a bit of a spending ban for the rest of the month. It reminded me of the saying, ‘if you can’t buy the products you love, love the ones you have’. Okay, well it didn’t go exactly like that, but hey. I’m starting off with scrubs I love. Excuse the pictures, they were taken at 6am on a dark, rainy morning so were the best I could manage. The brightest place seemed to be in the shower.

1. The Body Shop: Sweet Lemon Body Scrub
I recently discovered that this scent is being discontinued which is why the range is 50% off at the moment. It is one of my favourites because lemon reminds me of my happy place, the Amalfi Coast. This scrub is so refreshing, especially for summer.
2. Lush: Mint Julips Lip Scrub
This is my favourite of the Lush lip scrubs. I love the mint smell, taste and tingle. Licking the sugary scrub of my lips afterwards is so yummy that I’m always tempted to eat a bit more for good measure. It has also been revolutionary for me because I hadn’t used a lip scrub before this, and now it just seems so obvious.
3. Hey Gorgeous: Oatmeal Honey Face Scrub with Rice Flour
This deserves a special mention because it was actually custom-made for me. I found the sugar in the face scrubs a bit harsh, so Hey Gorgeous kindly created this version by replacing the sugar with rice flour. It smells like cookies! I’m not using scrubs on my face at the moment because my skin is dehydrated, but it can be used for anything from hands to feet and in between. The rice flour seems to absorb a lot of the honey, apricot kernel and jojoba oils, so it is drier and more crumbly than their usual scrubs, but it leaves a softness behind. The key point though is that Hey Gorgeous will customize products for you, which is unique.
4. Poetry: Gardeners’ Hand Scrub
I received this in my latest Bandwagonbox and I love it. I use it to wash my hands and the combination of olive oil and apricot and olive kernels leave your hands so smooth and soft. The website lists it at R20 but I am sure this can’t be right, as the smart glass pump dispenser itself must surely be worth more than that?? Anyway, if this is true, go and snap up five at a time.
5. Hey Gorgeous: Neapolitan Scrub
This sugar scrub is just so much fun. The three layers are strawberry, chocolate and vanilla, so you get three scentsations in one tub. I have gone through the strawberry layer already and I am onto the chocolate layer. The smell is each layer is delicious and it leaves your skin feeling moisturised afterwards.

Hhhhmmmm….LUSH lip scrubs – can’t get enough of them! I haven’t tried the Body Shop Lemon Scrub but am currently using the Mango one and loving it!

Wow! I didn’t know Hey Gorgeous can customize their products – that’s great! The facial scrub with rice flour sounds delicious (for skin and to eat lol). I’m definitely getting the Neopolitan scrub when I place an order with HG, been lusting after it for a while now.

The Poetry hand scrub is usually R49 a bottle…if they are going for R20 I am going to get more!,, love your list. My favourite body scrubs are the grapefruit scrub from The Body Shop and Traquil Body Treats bluebell scrub.

On the poetry website they are R20 but Charlene says R49 in stores. So I am not sure. I actually have to force myself to not use a body scrub every night. I just find it so fun 😛
