This enticing blush from Gosh is one which I have nearly bought on several occasions after seeing it on Gee Whiskers and Not Another Poppie. I’ve picked it up a few times and then put it down again thinking “do I honestly need another blush”? The answer is yes. Blush is one of my favourite makeup products and my collection is really growing. I make sure that I rotate through them to give them all some use, although I do have some favourites. Perhaps that’s a subject for another post.
I was really grateful to be sent this blush to try, but I would honestly have purchased it myself at some point because there are seriously only so many times you can find something tempting before you give in to temptation…well, in my case anyway! There is a cool toned light pink, a peach with a hint of gold shimmer, a darker rose pink and a warm toned brown shade.
It is so pretty to look at, but I suppose the real question is how it looks on the skin and lasts through the day.
- What I like about it on first impression is the combination of colours, which you can use individually (a bit of a struggle if you’re using a big brush like the Real Techniques blush brush though, it must be said) or together.
- Three of the shades are matte and one has shimmer, so when used together the shimmer isn’t too obvious. I love shimmer though, so I’m happy it was included and tend to concentrate more on the peach quarter for this reason.
- The shade which looks brown is actually quite pink, so if you’re very fair then don’t let it scare you. This and the peach are the softer colours, while the cool pink and rose pink are more pigmented and pack quite a punch. So if you’re using those two in combination, be gentle.
- Lastly, the quality and longevity of this blush is great. I swirled the shades together and wore it on Valentines Day (photo above), and it lasted really well into mid- to late-afternoon…after which I stopped checking or caring because my Valentines Day was manic.
