REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial

If you’re perpetually late, over-worked, you’re a mom (enough said), don’t have the time to indulge in a salon facial as often as you would like, or doing a home facial seems like too much effort at the end of a day, here is a product for you! I personally love nothing more than a lengthy routine of exfoliating and double masking, but to be honest most of the time I’m multi-tasking – cooking dinner, sorting out baths, even working at my computer while I have my masks on.

REN has come up with quite a revolutionary product with their Flash Rinse. It has been available for a while now and I’m sure you’ve already read reviews. In a nutshell, it’s a one-product mini facial which will only take you a couple of minutes. I like to use it in the morning when I’ve got very little time but need to perk up my skin. Sometimes I use it in the evenings when I am too exhausted to use five different products.

All you need to do is massage the slightly grainy-textured product onto your face, which I consider the exfoliating step. I do this very gently as my skin is quite sensitive to anything textured. It has a really nice citrus scent to it which is refreshing in itself.

Then wet your fingers and massage again to activate the vitamin C – this changes the texture to a silky one. You leave it on for one minute, then rinse off. And basically in less time than it takes to boil a kettle your skin is glowing. The effect is really visible, and my skin immediately looks smoother and more radiant. Because it is so quick and provides instant gratification I’m very tempted to use it all the time, but once every three days will suffice. It’s suitable for all skin types except sensitive skin. My skin is prone to sensitivity and it doesn’t bother my skin at all.

Vitamin C is an antioxidant, so with regular use it will help with fine lines and other skin ageing nasties. Also, apparently “new research shows that ascorbic acid 2-phosphate, a derivative of vitamin C, not only neutralizes free radicals, but also reverses DNA damage” (source). A little Flash Rinse goes a long way, so it is a good investment as a tube will last you quite a while. They retail for R470 and available at Woolworths or Foschini. REN will also soon be available at selected Edgars stores as well.

It’s definitely worth investing in….go on….I’m little the little devil sitting on your shoulder whispering in your ear (only I’m actually an angel and I’m doing your skin a favour, trust me).
