So everybody knows that Benefit is back in SA and we’re all tremendously excited at not having to track products down overseas and go through the anguish of waiting to see whether the SA postal service ever delivers them.
If you don’t have a Benefit counter at a nearby Red Square or Edgars the bonus is that quite a few of the products are available on Red Square online already, so you can order them from the comfort of your couch. Counters are open at Edgars Sandton City and Clearwater Mall, Red Square Cresta Shopping Centre, Red Square Canal Walk and Edgars Canal Walk.
Here are a few of my favourite Benefit products if you’re wondering what to buy. I know what is on my wish list (Porefessional, Hoola and Dandelion) but since I haven’t tried them yet I can’t really comment on them. These are Benefit products I’ve tried myself and have loved.
Watt’s Up is my favourite cream highlighter which I use regularly. It’s such a beautiful golden champagne shade – basically it’s Mary Lou-Manizer in cream form. I also like the High Beam which is a more pink-toned pearlescent highlighter, although I find the packaging a bit awkward. Once you reach the bottom the little brush can’t easily reach the remnants.
I absolutely adore the Push-Up Liner (R295), but it’s a really marmite kind of product. People either love it or hate it. If you have the knack of it, it can make winged eyeliner a breeze. I also found it very black, and it didn’t fade or flake off on me at all. Luckily these are available in mini sizes for you to try out first and see which camp you fall into. I’ve recently bought Roller Lash (R295), which has become my everyday go-to mascara for length and curl, and Gimme Brow (R295) in light/medium which is a really nifty product if you have quite full brows which just need neatening and keeping in place. It does even out the colour of my brows, but if you need to do a lot of filling in then this won’t be quite the one-stop wonder it is for me. Coralista and Sugarbomb (R345) are two of the blushes I own and love. Coralista is one of those light coral/peachy pink shades which looks beautiful with mostly everything, and suits so many people, while Sugarbomb is more for the shimmer queens – it’s a peach-toned blush and highlighter in one.
