The Mom & Moo Reviews | Hean Summer Collection Polishes

As if Moo wasn’t spoiled enough she received a gift of some bright summery nail polishes from Hean (available from Glamore Cosmetics) and was so excited to do her nails. Even though her nails are a bit of a mess (like mother, like daughter…but at least she’s not a chewer) and are really small, which doesn’t allow for much nail surface, she loves wearing nail polish like all little girls.

Left to right: Lavender Dream, Summer Daze, For the Love of Pink

Also, what with digging in the sandpit every day and eating all her food with her hands (let’s just overlook my bad parenting for a minute, okay?) polish doesn’t last long on her and her nails are always a tad grimy. But we tried our best because she really wanted to show everyone her new polish… [Quote: “I want my nails to be famous”]

I was impressed with these polishes, because at R55 per bottle they are really affordable and they apply really well. The lavender dream was more opaque and less glossy than the other two shades, which had more of a sheer, almost jelly effect. But with three thin coats they build up to an opaque, ultra-glossy finish. They are also very fast-drying which both Moo and I appreciate. Me, because I’m always in a hurry, and Moo because she could get back to drawing her 50th Christmas wish list in record time.

I suggest you look at the swatches on Ordinary Misfit’s beautiful nails of the whole summer collection to get an idea of how pretty they truly are. The colours are bright and fun and perfect for summer. I personally really love the blue Summer Daze, but Moo says the Lavender Dream is her favourite because purple is the colour of Boovs…
