I’ve been collecting Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer shades for a while, because I was a bit hooked after buying my first two. They just apply so easily, and I love the packaging. The shade on the tube reflects the shade inside, making it easy to find what you’re looking for in your handbag. I have shades plum pop, nude pop, beige pop and melon pop.

They’re opaque, creamy and moisturising and there is a big shade range. Of course I stuck with the lighter shades in keeping with my less is more aesthetic. They are supposed to contain a smoothing primer, and they do glide on easily, and are fairly long lasting (especially the darker shades). They are supposed to keep lips moisturised for 8 hours. I find them comfortable to wear and my lips do feel moisturised for quite a while even after the colour has worn off. They’re just a great everyday lip product to swipe on when your lips are feeling a bit dry or need perking up. They cost R275 each.

I’ve recently added nude pop to my little collection, and it is a perfect ‘your lips but better’ shade which just goes with everything. It’s the sheerest of the lot – the others are quite a bit more opaque. Beige pop is a lighter more pink-toned nude shade and melon pop is a light coral/peach. Plum pop is more of a plum-toned pink, perfect for anyone who finds a bold plum a bit overwhelming. There are 16 shades in total including shades to suit every skin tone.
